Failure is really relative, meaning it doesn't have the same meaning across life fields. Failure in business is totally different from failure in the classroom but because failing in the classroom is the first failure we encounter in life, it often easier to define all the failures base on the one we encountered in school.
Am going to show the wide differences between failing in class and failing in business and in doing so many will not be afraid to do business.
Failing in class means you will go home with a poor certificate which will make it difficult for you to get a good job unless someone helps you get a job anyway.
Failing in business leads you to know how the business won't work and allows you to do the business in a way you never planned to do or even help you to enter a new field which will lead you to success.
When you fail with a business plan, you just learnt what you thought was the best way to do the business which wasn't really the best way. So failing in business makes you smarter and increasing your chance of success whiles failing in class reduce your confidence and decrease your chance of success.
So this is the reason why many are afraid to leave their unfulfilled job to go into business because they think they might fail and the definition of failure they have is the kind of failure they knew in class not like what I have explained to you.
Here is a list of few people who failed in business and still move on to make fortunes.
1. Evans William
He developed a podcasting platform which failed big time because Apple also had just released their podcasting platform at the same time but he went on the cofounded one of the biggest social media in the world called twitter.
2. Reid Hoffman
Who started a dating site but massively failed and went on to cofounded Lincoln and one of Paypal big investors.
Jeff Bezos
Who is the richest man in the world today started a company called z- shop online auction shop but failed big time but he went on to start Amazon which is now the biggest online retail shop in the world.
Peter Thiel
The man who gave the world one of the biggest online payment platform called PayPal failed with his first business called hedge fund. He lost 90% of his 7 billion assets to the stock exchange market.
There are several others whom time will not permit us to list them all here. What you have to know is all these failures that show up in business are actually a disguised opportunity to world-class success. So if you are stuck in an unfilled job or better still your job is okay but has taken all your freedom in life and you have been thinking of starting a business but you have never gotten the courage to leave that work because you are afraid to fail in business, then let this article inspire you to take that bold step today.
