Who is a boss ?
A boss here in this article is not just someone who manages employees but am referring to someone who owns a company .
How do bosses come about ?
Bosses are not born they are actually made. They are made when ordinary people set their mind on building a business and stick with the business rain or shine until it becomes profitable and grows. And sometimes too, there are people who got inspiration and training from people who were already in business or gave themselves self training about how to do business. Most of them too learn on the job. There are several people who were working in companies but later decided to quit and start their own businesses.
Are there new bosses still coming up today?
Yes there are new bosses springing up everyday. Most often ,when people see those who are successful in business today they often think that they made it because of the era they were living in when the business was started .You can go online and look at the date most business started and you will be amazed that some businesses are even less than 5 or 10years old and other less than 10 years . Being a boss is a choice. Some became bosses whilst they were still in school, others after school and some drop out from school and become bosses.
Why do some people never become bosses after entering into business?
The reason is this, there is a difference between being self employed and having a business. When someone is self employed, his business solely depends on him to run but when someone is having a business, that business operates on a system that enables it to run without him. It's not just about putting the business in someone's hand but setting up the right structures for the business to grow right from the onset .This is where providing employment for people begins.
How can you become a boss?
Firstly, you have to desire to be someone who will want to provide employment for people and enhance their lives. There are thousands of people graduating from school every year but are there thousands of jobs or vacancies created for every graduant every year? No, so you can decide to be a job provider rather than a job seeker.
Secondly, you have to begin to think of a business area you would like to venture in and begin to educate yourself with all the skills you need to thrive. In today's world, people just enter into business just with passion but no training, which is why so many business fail.
Thirdly, begin to save part of your salary from your current job so that by the time you leave your job, you will have some money on you to run your business. And the beautiful thing is you can even start the business whilst you are still working .
Fourthly, you must have the courage to leave your full time work. The fear you may be having in you that it might go well with the business was planted in you by the education system. It has trained you to think you can only have financial security by working for someone but remember starting a business gives you the opportunity for financial freedom. You have to understand that the term failure in school is not the same as failure in business. Failure in business leads to smartness and due to failure, several major cooperations of the world have been formed. The failure of facemask led to the creation of Facebook. So don't be afraid of failure in business. The 10,000 failures encountered by Thomas Edison in the invention of the electric bulb is what led him to the invention of a successful bulb which has light up the world till today .So jump out of that job and you will be on your way to become your own boss.
Finally, make a study of how people were able to make it in setting up their business. You can do some by just using searching online or YouTube .This will amaze you to find out how these men started and have set up multinational companies. And also made friends with people who are doing business especially self employed people, you will learn a lot from them too.
