 SELF EMPLOYED

Differences-between-being-self-employed-and-a-business person

To be self-employed is working to render trade or services for yourself other than for a company to pay you. The person who is self-employed runs the business and the business solely depends on him to thrive.  Most often, the self-employed person will use their time at the workplace to ensure the business goes on well. They can even employ others but they are the main cause of operations for the business. For example. a phone technician who has set a  phone repairing company is self-employed because such companies can only function with his presence because he has to deal with all the phone repairs unless he chooses to employ another repairer.

 A BUSINESS PERSON

Differences between being self employed and running a business

A business person on the other hand means having a company just like the self-employed person does, but the business person rather runs on a system that does not depend on him to run it. Running a business means your business has different levels of organization and functions that have been put in place to help the company to run with or without the presence of the person who formed the company. Some businesses are automated especially online to bring a passive income for the business owner even long after the company has been formed.
For example, a phone technician can set up a business with his phone repairs company by setting up a website where people can make a request for their spoilt phones and a dispatch rider will go and pick the phones from the clients and deliver it to the company, where there would be a group of repairers who will repair the phone for the clients under the company's name. This company can even sign up to offer repair services for companies when any of their employee's  phone or even company phones gets faulty
Now, this business can run with or without the presence of the person who formed the company. The repairing company can later go into selling brand new phones and accessories and set up an after sales business by getting all its clients to come for repairs each time their phone gets faulty.

So with this information, the difference between being self-employed and a business person is clarified.
You can now decide which one you would like to be.
